the word literature can have two defferent meanings .Broadly speaking literature is defined as everything in print that is connectedto a particular subject such as scientific books ,newspaper article ,recipes;history books,telephone books,etc.On the other hand ,it could be imaginative aiming at arousing thoughts and feelings .In fact,it is ,a work of art;it offers us truth as seen and felt by the creative writer , poet or playwright .It is ,in the words of the american poet , Robert Frost,*performance in word*Thus, the aim of the imaginative writer is to interpret experience by fictitious presentations of person ,ideas and events .The following quotation contain some definitions of literature
